Soft Security Issues in the Arctic
Discussion on the socio-economic impacts of climate change on Arctic communities, food and environmental security, health, infrastructure, education, connectivity, response capacity, and cross-border cooperation.

The Protective and Adverse Childhood Experiences (PACE) Knowledge Exchange, is set to take place virtually on November 25th, 12:00-3:30 EST. This event will include a short presentation concerning PACEs, followed by a group discussion to set priority areas where PACEs could be applied to Arctic Indigenous youth mental wellness and expanded in a circumpolar context. This event will launch the SDWG’s work on PACEs, serve as a brainstorming session, and will prepare us for a fulsome PACE Forum at Arctic Circle 2022. Attendees will include community organizations and Arctic youth engaged in mental wellness advocacy, as well as researchers working on or interested in protective and adverse childhood experiences and Indigenous Arctic youth wellbeing. This session will explore various dimensions of renewable energy in the Arctic, including perspectives from local and Indigenous communities, private and public sectore and the Arctic Council's Sustainable Development Working Group.
